How much did dedicated docking practice actually help you? I have been doing the normal end of the day docking thing but it still feels rushed. Thinking I need to go out on a quiet morning and just repeat it a bunch.
huge difference for me. 30 minutes of nothing but approaches was more useful than a month of normal sailing. same slip, same setup, repeat it until your hands stop doing random stuff.
Practice the abort too. People focus on the perfect approach and then freeze when it is not perfect. Back out, reset, try again. Also worth practicing one midship spring line if you are short handed.
